Lady Paula Cotton

“What are you talking about?,” I asked Paula. Knowing that the surgery was a success, according to the doctor, thinking that Paula was still under strong medication, not really thinking that this was becoming a reality for Paula – and me. Not just a reality; this would soon become a journey of faith. Paula went from sauntering in her heels, dancing in church and marching along a fruitful and promising career path, to now not having any feeling in her left leg. She went through a very painful therapy, transitioning from a walker to a cane. All aspects of her world changed in a two-hour timeframe. Fighting fear and reaching for faith was Paula goal. Watching doctors come in and out of her room, hearing them attempt to explain, became a daily routine for months. Fear, pain, prayer, faith and laughter would fill the hospital room each day.Read More...

Angela Williams

At the tender age of 9, Angela got very sick with a fever. The next day she could hardly walk or stand, she began to feel really bad and was taken to the hospital. On the way to the hospital, Angela was unrecognizable. Her face was swollen and her eyes were big and “glassy looking”. When we arrived at the hospital, her body was covered with red blotches. The doctors ran various tests, but could not find anything wrong so they sent us home. The next night, after church Angela was complaining of chest pain and was taken back hospital. This time, she was admitted due to blood in her urine and an enlarged heart, two sizes too big. The doctors completed more tests, the results led to signs of lupus, but this would need to be confirmed through a biopsy.Read More...

As her mother I can tell you; she has had some good days and days that were not as good; but she keeps pushing. As a mother, no one want to see their child go through ANYTHING; but I know the God she serves as well as her relationship with him; she is covered.Read More...

Dr. Monica Hardy

During the last article submission, I explained the significance of authorship. When an author, especially a Christian author, begins to write-- the same anointing that God uses through his/her voice, he can use through his/her hands. Unfortunately, as with most preachers, we find it difficult to minister in any capacity without preaching. Well preachers, when writing, it is very important to STAY FOCUSED. It is not wise to shift in the middle of your book and start preaching. I would like to dedicate this author’s corner to all the preachers that God has placed in your spirit to write a book.Read More...

Melinda Grimmage

My journey through the life of singleness has beheld ups, downs, battles, struggles, wins and losses; but I was determined not to be defeated. Being that I was not properly validated as a little girl, I began to look for validation in older men which led to me having my first daughter at the tender age of 14 and then again at 19. I was determined not to allow this to be the end of my story. I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior, but because I still struggled with my identity in Christ I forfeited a right foundation that produced fruits of righteousness.Read More...
